This person must provide expert technical assistance to team members and other managed personnel with high-level systems and network requests. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and managing complex network infrastructure. Responsible for the successful daily operations and maintenance of the networks infrastructure. Must have ability to drive complicated projects to successful completion. Supports a wide range of industry standard technology. Job Description: Architecture, Design, and Implementation of network infrastructure In depth Network expertise expected from Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCIE) Solid understanding of how to install and configure core datacenter network equipment including routers, switches, Firewalls, VPN and Security devices. Plan and maintain the highly technical, logical network configuration of routers, switches, , wireless, firewalls and other technology associated with network traffic (load balancers, proxies, IDS/IPS, WAN Optimization, etc). Design and implementation of network services to provide mission critical and redundant capabilities. (QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OTV) and physical layer services (Layer 2 WAN, MPLS, DVPN over Internet and LTE Services) Understanding of the latest IT trends and understanding how the business can benefit by providing technical direction to IT department with regards to network related items. Expert in network availability and security. Continuously assessing risk and recommending solutions to ensure the integrity and resiliency of the enterprise network. Understanding the concepts and mechanics of Cloud based connectivity with Azure via ExpressRoute and VPN technologies. Competent in justifying recommendations with cost/benefit analysis. Administration Must demonstrate a mastery of producing and maintaining accurate network architecture documentation. Manage all components of a large VPN WAN infrastructure, network security and 3rd party packages supporting network infrastructure and security. Must have detailed knowledge of commonly used application protocols such as SMTP, FTP, TFTP, SSH, NFS, SAMBA, etc Expert knowledge of networking concepts, configure routing (BGP, EIGRP), switching, Active Directory Domains, DNS and DHCP technologies. Routing experience between common cloud services and onsite hosted facilities. Maintenance (LAN/WAN support) Experienced with routines for troubleshooting, debugging, and restoring communications within the network. Experienced with the terms of vendor services, SLAs, and support protocols. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical 3rd party vendors to resolve issues. Proficient at network monitoring using industry standard tools (SNMP, Netflow/sFlow, etc). Support for Operations Understanding of ITIL Service Management framework Train and direct other network administrators or operators Troubleshoot problems and issues independently. Provide on call rotation to ensure support coverage. Any other duties as assigned for support of network operations. Skill Sets: Education: degree or certification in computer science or related field Licenses/Certification/Registration: Cisco certification minimum CCNP required (CCIE preferred) or equivalent experience. Experience: 5+ years of network experience, routing, and switching and core technologies General Skills: Knowledge of and experience in designing large intricate fault tolerant networks.
