Job Description:
Role: Sr. Data Engineer
Years of Experience: 7+ years
Travel Required: Yes
Location: Austin, TX (Remote to Start)
Develop, enhance, and scale stream processing services, ensuring their robustness and scalability.
Write, review, and modify code to support enterprise data warehouse and BI reporting platforms.
Design various components of the Data Warehouse Platform and establish the required infrastructure for optimal data ingestion and refinement.
Model data to align with business use cases and analyse the current ETL process, proposing and designing new systems.
Automate and manage data processing pipelines, including integration support.
Contribute to big data analytics projects to extract actionable insights.
Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor.
Preferably possess a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Have at least 4 years of experience in designing and implementing data warehouse and business intelligence systems.
Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools and systems such as Power BI, Tableau, Snowflake, and Azure Data Factory.
Proficiency in or strong knowledge of agile software development methodology.
Understanding of enterprise application architecture, design, and implementation considerations.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, shifting attention as needed to meet diverse stakeholder demands.
Excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
Demonstrate accountability, responsibility, and self-drive to achieve goals.
Detail-oriented, with a focus on efficiently completing tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
Logical thinking, critical analysis, problem-solving, and reflection skills.
Provide timely and empathetic service through various communication channels, prioritizing peer and customer needs.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
Must have legal authorization to work in the country of employment without the need for sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Certifications:
Experience with Azure Data resources, including ADF, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Storage Accounts.
Strong proficiency in Python, DevOps practices, and GitHub.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer.
Previous experience with tools such as ADF, Snowflake, Python, and Function Apps.
