You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure the successful integration of APIs across various systems and platforms. You will help define and evangelise API design strategy, standards and patterns, enabling clients on their API adoption journey using industry standards and best practices. Skills and experience Be able to design and architect RESTful APIs. Experience of API Management and related tooling (Apigee) Expert knowledge of Javascript, and a good background on other languages like Java/.NET, Node.js, Python Hands-on experience with security concepts such as Authentication and Authorization, SSL and key management including experience with OAuth, OIDC, SAML, identity and access management and encryption Experience with automation/configuration management and build deployments (Jenkins, gulp, Maven, Ansible, etc.) Exposure to Cloud Technologies such as AWS, Google, Cassandra and Mobile App development including Android and iOS SDKs Experience building and delivering proofs of concept (PoCs) independently and effectively You need to be able to communicate well and help colleagues in a support aspect Roles & Responsibilities Design and architect API solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to define API specifications, including endpoints, security protocols, data formats, and authentication methods. Develop and maintain API documentation, including code samples, tutorials, and best practices. Lead the integration of APIs with existing systems, databases, and third-party applications. Resolve complex technical issues related to API integration, performance, scalability, and reliability. Conduct system assessments and propose enhancements to optimize API performance, security, and usability. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in API design and architecture. Foster strong relationships with clients and provide technical guidance and support throughout the API development lifecycle. Collaborate with development teams to ensure adherence to API design principles, coding standards, and quality assurance processes. Conduct regular performance tests and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and efficient API responses. To support on API projects; setting objectives aligned to project objectives and ensuring that focus is maintained. Provide a service landscape that is consumable by many. Build a better experience for colleagues and customers alike Help reduce costs by implementing more efficient services and reusable building blocks Deliver API solutions that streamline, simplify and improve the API service landscape between multiple systems and external providers.
