Diagnose and isolate faults. Utilization of Cienas management platform to enable troubleshooting, where applicable. Assist with communication, consultation, coordination, escalation, and leadership to address major technical problems; and Serve as a liaison between Customer operations personnel and the Ciena Technical support team. The Resident Engineer will assist with testing of the planned network in a pre- production environment. Assist Customer with new hardware or upgraded software issues and diagnose and isolate faults on Covered Products as needed. Provide analysis, reviews, and recommendations related to network testing including Cienas management platform. Assist Customer with new software release testing; and Assist in isolating interoperability problems, performing data collection and analysis, assessing the problem, and researching technical documentation and known problems. Verify that all software and hardware elements of the Covered Products are running up to date versions. Provide guidance and recommendations for optimal support of existing and new feature implementation. Provide or review upgrade and change-over procedure method-of- procedure documents that detail the process to follow and minimize the risk associated with the upgrade of Covered Products; and Identify Covered Products that might be reaching MD or EOL and provide replacement recommendations.
