Team members build, debug, test, release, manage, and secure platforms microservices-based cloud infrastructure. Teams work in a fast-paced Agile environment to deliver high-quality software in an incremental manner. Role Work closely with architects and technical product managers and other team members to translate product requirements and system architecture into well-designed and tested software solutions. Define common frameworks and software libraries that support the creation of efficient, scalable, and highly available microservice-based architectures. Establish best-practices and deploying supporting technologies for improving platform security & audit, latency, availability, and scalability. Provide guidance to other software developers to promote and implement best practices and supporting tools/technologies for source control management, CI/CD architectures, performance, SLAs, security, audit, and monitoring. Collaborate in defining methods that enable our fast-paced engineering teams to flourish as we collectively build-out the IoT Platform. Troubleshoot issues and identify areas for continuous improvement with a particular emphasis on quality, performance, and security. Experience: This role will demand eight plus years of proven, hands-on track-record as a software engineer, much of it focused on designing cloud-based distributed systems for scalability, performance, and availability. Required Strong expertise developing cloud-based services (SaaS) and platforms (PaaS) using Java 1.8+ and Clojure/ClojureScript In-depth experience of AWS core services (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, etc.) along with serverless architecture (Lambda/Fargate) and complex microservice-based platform API Gateway architectures. Additional (must have hands-on experience with some of the below) HashiCorp Nomad, Consul, Vault, Terraform stack. Event streaming architecture (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.). Good knowledge of data persistence using relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) solutions. Knowledge of system monitoring & reporting tools (ELK, Telegraf, Grafana, etc.). Knowledge of distributed network architecture and security. Python/JavaScript/NodeJS desirable.
