Senior Engineers are expected to be able to develop with minimal oversight and to contribute to architecture and software design decisions. The core responsibilities for a Lead Software Engineer will include the following: Manage the end-to-end delivery of all assigned solutions development projects. Work within a multi-functional team to solve technical, previously unsolved problems around system integrity, reliability and upgradeability. Take a lead role in requirements analysis and design discussions. Design and build software components based on high level functional requirements Work closely with architecture teams to align on design patterns and create best of class solutions. Drive the adoption of technology platforms and design principles across development teams. Adapt to rapid innovation, coding new functions while learning new technologies. Manage priorities and work to deadlines; ensure deliverables meet requirements. Communicate with peers on software design and provide innovative recommendations for improvements. Mentor junior developers Education, Skills and Experience Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience. At least 6 years of experience with software development in multiple programming languages, across multiple applications and disciplines. At least 3 years of experience with software design and architecture; testing and maintaining software products. Experience in a technical leadership role leading a software development project. Expert understanding of C/C++; and/or Java and other programming languages; leading design and development projects using those languages. Expert full stack development skills along with one or more of the application areas, below. Preferred Qualifications: Experience as a principal software/systems architect. Experience with video streaming protocols and technologies. Experience with networking concepts, protocols and development. Experience with native desktop application and UX development. Experience of API design and/or device driver implementation. Experience of real time and/or embedded software development.
