Power BI Developer will help transforming raw data to valuable and meaningful insights in the form of appealing dashboards and reports. They should understand the Power BI platform and its tools very well. Job Duties/Roles Monitor resources such as Power BI Premium capacity, any critical source systems of Power BI such as an Azure SQL database, any on-premises data gateways, and license availability Monitor usage and content such as determining which reports and dashboards are most heavily accessed across the organization and whether Power BI adoption is increasing or not Create and manage workspaces such as assigning or removing groups/users from workspace roles and assigning or moving workspaces to Premium capacities Grant or revoke access to groups to certain Power BI features such as the ability to create workspaces and use custom visuals. Troubleshoot issues such as dataset refresh failures, user access/licensing issues, performance problems, etc. Create, maintain, and enhance enterprise and application-level reports using Microsoft Power BI platform. Regularly fields questions and issues related to stability, performance, and permissions/access. Provide functional and technical subject matter expertise in various data management, warehousing, business intelligence and Big Data solutions. Provide status reports to senior management; and create data visualizations that leverage all features of Power BI (Parameters, Filters, Advanced Charts, Data Connections, Actions, Dashboards, etc.) with these visualizations presenting data to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, by presenting complex patterns in the form of easily deciphered charts and graphs. Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the internal customer experience. Create custom SQL to query complex data models in the most effective way for the database and the application servers. Act as the liaison between business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure teams and project management groups Analyze data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries and database schemas while designing, developing, amending, optimizing, and certifying database designs to satisfy reporting needs. Assist in monitoring system performance, reliability, availability, and recoverability of the DW environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required (KSAR) Highly proficient in Microsoft Power BI Administration and development Highly proficient in SQL Experience in the Azure suite such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse is nice to have, Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills consistent with a client group, including senior managers & executives. Attentive to details Highly proficient in translating complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Work with data warehouse team to identify data dependencies and data requirements. Experience in writing DAX queries and functions. Minimum Years of Experience Typically, 5 or more years of experience in BI Administration and development. Required/Preferred Education Requirements Bachelors degree in business or a STEM field is preferred. Required/Preferred Professional Requirements Must have Power BI Administrator experience.
