Azure - Cloud Security Engineer

Our Client is looking for a senior Azure Cloud Security Engineer to join their team. In this role.  The Azure Cloud Security Engineer position, reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer, plays a pivotal role in the organization by architecting, deploying, and overseeing enterprise-wide security tooling, in alignment with the Information Security and Compliance roadmap. Acting as a Technical Azure Cloud Security Subject Matter Expert, this role provides critical guidance and architecture review across all technology projects while collaborating closely with technology partners to select, implement, and integrate various security solutions.

The position carries substantial organizational impact and demands deep technical expertise, an enterprise-wide perspective, and adept change management skills.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement multi-cloud and data center security architecture.

Develop, execute, and assess security measures to safeguard information, network infrastructure, and computer systems.

Oversee and actively participate in the setup, configuration, and management of information security technologies.

Manage assigned information security projects.

Maintain security tooling encompassing network security, identity and access management, continuous monitoring, vulnerability and cloud security posture management, asset management, and other cybersecurity solutions.

Develop security automations to drive remediations and improvements.

Conduct regular technical risk assessments of systems and infrastructure.

Collaborate with developers to implement DevSecOps solutions and instigate a security-focused SDLC.

Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.

Identify, define, and document system security requirements, recommending solutions to management.

Stay current on industry trends and competitor advancements in business capabilities and technology.

Conduct research, formal evaluation, and prototyping of leading/emerging technologies independently.

 Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

7-10 years of experience in Infrastructure or Security Engineering.

Expertise in software and security architectures within cloud and data center environments.

Experience in building and securing Kubernetes environments.

Proficiency in networking technology, including firewall configuration, DNS, and traffic analysis.

Strong background in Microsoft 365 (E5) and Azure, with experience architecting security across multi-tenant environments.

Technical skills for designing and implementing M365 Security services, with hands-on experience in various security components
.

Experience in applying security to cloud technologies, including managing secrets, securing
CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Container Security.

Experience in implementing enterprise-wide vulnerability management solutions, including container-based vulnerability management.

Possession of or ability to obtain professional certifications in information security or risk management (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft/Azure Security Certifications).

Profound knowledge of security, regulatory, and control frameworks, such as ISO27001, HIPAA, GDPR, NIST, and CIS.

Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership.

Interpersonal and collaborative skills, capable of communicating security and risk-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

High personal integrity and the ability to handle confidential matters professionally.

A natural passion for security and a strong commitment to project and investigation completion.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

:

Strong background using Microsoft Azure ***

certifications in information security or risk management (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft/Azure Security Certifications). ***
