JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Summary: Roswell Park is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance professional to support the testing of the Research Applications. The desired candidate will act as an IT Quality Analyst by planning, writing, and executing manual test scripts and identifying test scripts for automation. The ITQA Analyst will support the testing of a variety of research applications and should have experience in both front-end testing and back-end data validation. Working under the IT Quality Assurance Lead, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for the test planning, test execution, test coordination and defect management for their assigned projects. The Senior ITQA Analyst is responsible for assuring that IT Deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and stability. The ITQA Analyst accomplishes this through the Quality oversight and testing of the assigned projects. The role works closely with business and technology partners utilizing both business requirements and technical requirements to develop test scripts, track and help resolve defects and ensure that all testing is conducted and documented in adherence with IT Quality Assurance standards. ITQA is responsible for applying proven testing methodologies to support the delivery of quality IT deliverables, ensuring that changes are, on-time, and to specification and with the highest quality. The QA Analyst works with the team to identify and mitigate risk, bridging the gap between current and desired quality levels by balancing short-term needs with long-term perspectives of success. Primary Job Duties: Work in an agile environment, working closely with the Software Engineers, Product Owners, and other cross functional teams. Design, develop, document, analyze, create tests. Ability to write complex SQL queries. Ability to lead, collaborate, influence with effective communication and attention to detail. Creates and implements Quality Assurance test plans and strategies. Creates and presents test summary reports. Ensures all requirements/user stories are planned for, all test cases are linked to the proper requirement(s), all test cases are executed, all defects are documented and updated, and root causes have been researched, communicated, and addressed. Facilitates defect management, triage, and prioritization meetings. Provides Project Status reports. Ability to manage complex and or multiple projects at once. Developing and tracking test metrics Assist in development and roll out of process improvements. REQUIRED SKILLS: Primary Skills/Knowledge: TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Experience working in an agile methodology. Advanced knowledge with software testing concepts: regression testing, negative testing, White Box v. Black Box, functional v. non-functional testing, defect reporting standards, reproducibility of results. In depth experience using testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Python, Postman, Swagger, etc. DevOps experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub/ GitLab, etc. Experience writing test cases with and without documented requirements/user stories provided. Experience writing test strategies and test plans on large complex corporate initiatives. DB expertise DATA VALIDATION SKILLS: Strong understanding of Software Development process related to Data migrations as well as strong Python scripting knowledge. Understanding of Data Warehouse concepts Experience with source to target mappings and business rules. Understanding of ETL process and transformation logic a plus BUSINESS/FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Superb verbal communication sills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Self-motivated and ability to work effectively with minor supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with daily work processing deadlines. Excellent written communication skills, including public presentation. Demonstrated time management skills. EXPERIENCE: 5 years work experience in Software Development and Quality Assurance and Testing required. Experience in Healthcare or Research field highly desirable.
