(12c to 19c upgrade experience preferred) Proficiency in replicating and/or migrating Oracle databases to the Cloud (preference for on premise to VMwares Cloud Disaster Recovery (VCDR) environment Skilled in providing adept database and application connectivity in support for Testing of applications both on-premise and in the VCDR environment Experience in providing guidance and assistance during integrated run-for-record and other exercises Adept understanding of business and educational data processing applications Proficiency in various higher-level programming languages, including but not limited to MS SQL, SQL, PL/SQL, and Python Comprehensive knowledge of Cloud-based Infrastructure architecture, preference or VMware on AWS also including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud Services Understanding of Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and other related cloud technologies Extensive experience in Hybrid-cloud, cloud migrations, and database migrations Advanced knowledge of database backup, restore, and disaster recovery methodologies and technologies (familiarity with Google Actifio is a plus) Proficiency in performance tuning methodologies and technologies Understanding of Oracle Clustered Database Configurations (Oracle RAC) as well as SQL SERVER Failover Cluster Manager (FCM), SQL SERVER Always on Understanding of Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate for replicating data bases, the difference between the products, ability to select the more appropriate tool Thorough understanding of the principles and techniques of database administration and programming Experience in the replication and/or migration of Oracle databases between 2 sites (Physical Site to Physical Site, Physical Site to Cloud and Cloud to Physical Site) SCOPE OF SERVICES Convert the Oracle RAC (Cluster database) to a single node Oracle Database instance Migrate Oracle Databases from physical servers to Virtual Machines (VMs) Aid in the development of Recovery Plans for each Protection Group, detailing the necessary steps to activate the Oracle DB in the VCDR Cloud environment and ensure connectivity with associated application(s) Coordinate with the Application Teams to capture and/or document the mappings of App server OO the applications connected to each Database/Database Server Support ITS Applications Administrators with the creation of Test Plans.- providing all necessary steps to connect database server in the Cloud or on Premise Execute Recovery Plans for Unit and Integration Testing, managing the steps to recover the Oracle databases and establish connections with the applications, while documenting any additional essential steps in the RunBook for the protection groups Assist with the Configuration of additional computer servers for integration testing in the VCDR environment Release Oracle servers at the conclusion of the testing window back to the cloud provider Establish and implement database backup procedures to be activated in the event of a real failover to the VCDR environment Resolve issues and present viable solutions to the company.
