Role: Jr. Flammability Engineer

Location: Winston-Salem, NC (Onsite from Day 1)

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

             Performs standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and make design decisions.

             Represents the Flammability Certification team in internal technical and design reviews.

             Compiles FAA certification documentation for submission to commercial aircraft OEM's and regulatory agencies.

             Responsible for the review and approval of design changes for certification substantiation.

             Performs material selection and material specification correlation.

             Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering project.

             Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.

             Provides technical leadership to a small group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.

             Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.

             Participates in defining of engineering approaches and in planning/scheduling work.

Basic Qualifications:

             Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and

               minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

             Familiarity with standard aviation materials.

             Prior working experience in the aerospace industry, specifically with aircraft interiors.

             Prior experience reviewing and approving drawings.

             Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare and give presentations.

             Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams.

             Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Office Suite applications and engineering related software programs.

             Must have Experience of validating seating designing and Interiors of Aircrafts
