Independently completes infrastructure project assignments. Plan, research, evaluate, design, and engineer the enterprise's technology infrastructure. Provide technical support and troubleshooting, cost estimates, justifications, and recommendations. Produces technical documentation, support and configuration. Manage, plan, and maintain technical platforms including upgrading systems. Monitor system performance and installs and configures hardware. Responsible for collaborating with other Job Families such as Project Managers, Architects, Solution Engineers, Technicians, Business Analysts to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions that leverage client's technology standards, architectures and best practices. Essential Job Functions & Tasks : Working independently, responsibilities include the following related to Computer, Network, Storage, Cloud and End-User infrastructure: Perform infrastructure project assignments. Plan, research, evaluate and design infrastructure solutions. Provide a high level of technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities. Adhere to clients approval processes as part of change management, incident management and trouble response scenarios. Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations. Prepare technical documentation including procedures, manuals, and reports. Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes while assisting with annual and project planning. May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team. This will be an onsite position located in the Roanoke area (most likely at the Roanoke Office but may change to another Roanoke location). This individual will need to support multiple local offices in the area so some travel is expected, typically within a 1 hour radius. Please ensure that travel and expense guidelines are reviewed with your candidate if selected. Potential for occasional OT if needed and approved. Will participate in an on-call rotation (currently 1-week rotations between 6 team members but could vary). Please stay within the max bill rate of ***/hr - May consider slightly above for highly qualified candidates. Manager plans to do 2 rounds of interviews - First will be a technical interview with some of the team, then an interview with the manager. Interviews are planned to be virtual but could change. Required Skills and Experience Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required. Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered. Additional Requirements: Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, codes and regulations relevant to assignments. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of client infrastructure, environment, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems. Exhibit and apply proficiency in analysis, design, problem solving, troubleshooting, resolution, communication, and customer service skills. Infrastructure Engineer Sr experience must include expertise across Windows Desktop\\Server platforms and Office M365 Products with understanding of Unix (RHEL and AIX), Oracle, and SQL. Strong communication and people skills required. Engineer will coordinate with several other IT teams (Application development teams and Infrastructure teams) and is responsible for the satisfactory resolution and documentation. Extensive knowledge to rack mount servers including installation of OS images and patching. Engineer will manage the readiness of IT systems in preparation during storm conditions. Specific duties include system monitoring, system tuning, trouble-shooting infrastructure issue including workstation support, server support.
