Were looking for a Business Analyst type to support our InEight project controls application.  This is a niche role and requires someone with commercial construction experience.  The ideal candidates would have worked as a Cost Engineer, Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager with a large construction company.  The educational background could be Construction Management or Business/Accounting.  The relevant software includes Procore, Trimble Project Sight, Autodesk Construction Cloud, HCSS and Aconex."

Job Description

The Project Controls Business Systems Analyst will support the ongoing development and adoption of Bragg Companies InEight Project Controls/Job Cost application.  The role will examine and evaluate business processes and information reporting requirements for all construction operations for Bragg Companies and Total-Western, Inc.  This professional will partner with business owners and project management to develop and implement best practices for processes, data structures, internal controls and reporting. 

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for preparing process documentation, defining key internal controls, preparing functional specifications for reports, interfaces and conversions, developing test plans and educational materials; and executing all tests related to implementations and upgrades.  The role is also responsible for end-user support for the software and associated business processes and will spend extensive time working on job sites with end-users to get them functional on InEight.

Job Responsibilities:

              Drive adoption of the InEight software by providing personal, on-site training and support to Project Management and Administrative staff.

              Develop hands-on, expert level knowledge of the InEight application and the business processes it supports. Serve as the companys main point of contact with the InEight company and their support resources.

              Work collaboratively with Operations, Finance and other business partners to gather requirements and design business processes and operational reports in support of the new Project Controls/Job Cost application.

              Build the capabilities of end-users to access and use the data in a rigorous manner that is foundational to sound decision-making and ongoing reporting accuracy.  Develop materials and provide training that establishes the required initial user acumen and can be leveraged for ongoing educational needs.

              Identify opportunities to improve business processes leveraging the Project Controls software and the Microsoft Power Platform.  Implement processes that are accurate, streamlined, and well documented with an emphasis on providing timely and accurate financial data to the business.  

              Prepare deliverables, including process flows and scripts, key internal controls, test plans, functional specifications for reports, interfaces and conversions and end-user education materials.  The position may also author reports utilizing PowerBI and other report development tools.

              Partner with other Business Systems Analysts on the integration of Project Controls/Job Cost with Human Resources, Payroll, General Ledger and other applications.

              Develop and codify the highest leverage performance metrics related to construction project management.  Design and deliver reports that help optimize business performance and support internal controls.

              Partner with cloud application vendors to ensure systems are performing as designed, information is timely and accurate and end-users are functioning effectively on the new platform.  Prioritize and resolve system issues.  Identify and prioritize future enhancement requests.

Qualifications

Specialty/Job-Related knowledge, skills & abilities:

              Proven track record of leveraging information systems to drive process improvements.

              Excellent project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work.  Familiarity with system implementation best practices and methodologies.

              Experience with documenting functional requirements and design specifications for systems implementations.

Industry-specific knowledge, skills & abilities:

              Familiarity with construction management and job cost practices for the construction industry is required.  Hands-on experience with Procore, InEight, ProjectSight or equivalent software product is highly desired.

General Business Acumen and Traits:

              Committed to continuous process improvement identifies improvement opportunities, makes recommendations, and drives implementation of solutions.

              Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, high energy environment.

              Proven analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities.

              Proficient in standard business software, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 

              Advanced skills in report development, business intelligence tools (PowerBI) and application software preferred.

Education and/or on-the-job experience:

              Two to five years of professional experience in commercial construction management as a cost engineer, assistant project manager or similar role.

              Bachelors degree in construction management, business administration, IT or equivalent.

              Hands on experience with at least one enterprise class construction management computer application.
