Work with our Ellucian Banner Managed Services Provider. Ensure they are maintaining our DBs and also Banner. They will be the primary contact between FAU and Ellucian. They will assist with coordinating tickets with them, helping with some OS Linux configurations they may request. The MSP is who keeps our Student Information System healthy. Secondary part of the job. We have about 12 Oracle databases on 20 servers. They need management, patches, monitoring, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Assists a designated Associate Director, or Director, in the infrastructure division as needed. Maintains the Oracle databases and operating systems for the database. Manages the relationship with a third-party database admin (DBA) managed services provider (MSP) that maintains the Ellucian Banner Student Information System. Manages the vendor relationship for supported products from Ellucian, Broadcom and Oracle. Assists with the coordination for Ellucian Banner and Oracle patches, upgrades and updates, leveraging the Ellucian Banner MSP or internal team as needed. Responsible for developing, coordinating, supporting, monitoring, tuning, backups, managing and supervising database health of Oracle databases and servers. Troubleshoots issues with databases and the Banner environment, with the assistance of the Ellucian Banner MSP or internal team. Manages Harvest and the promotion of database packages and files. Creates and maintains technical documentation and procedures for the environments. Has Linux and Oracle Database Management skills.
