Job Description : Upgrade/Migrate DB2 Versions to newer versions Regularly applying PTFS/APARS if required. Manage DB2 IVS Products and upgrade to supported versions if required. Managing system catalogs Manage application data and database environments, performing reorganizations when required to optimize performance Offline utilities - DSNJLOGF, DSNJU004, DSNJU003 etc. Database and related object security manage user ids, rights and privileges DB2 administration on z/OS, SQL creation, DB2 command line creation and execution, DB2 performance tuning, Physical database definition (DDL) and understanding of logical database design Implement DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) base software installs and upgrades Implement DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) related product installs and upgrades Implement DBDC (CICS, DB2, or IMS) security compliance corrections Monitoring threads, table space and index spaces. Monitoring instances for events and resolution/escalations Performance tuning Database and SQL tuning DB2 recycle DB2 Image copy (full/incremental) Database creation Grant/revoke of authorities DB2 archive logs Having experience of DR setup through various synch methods Build and maintenance of database and related objects like table space, tables, indexes, views, triggers etc. Online utilities -CHECKDATA, COPY, QUIESCE, REPAIR, REORG, LOAD, UNLOAD etc. Years of Experience Total : Above 5+ Years of experience Relevant : Minimum of 4 yrs in DB2 UDB on z/OS 2) Position: Position: Mainframe Z/OS system Admin No of Positions: 02 Work Location: Remote Duration: Long Term Contract Implementor: HCL Required Skills: Mainframe Z/OS, System Admin, Sysplex/GDPS, PARMLIB, RACF And IMS/MQ Series. Job Description : Fully understand z/OS services structure, JES concepts, parallel sysplex/GDPS, catalog management PARMLIB configuration and JES customization Knowledge of JCL, REXX, CLIST and Modify Assembler EXITS Knowledge of z/OS HW, LPAR, HMC IMS/MQ Series (Web Sphere MQ) RACF experience Knowledge of installing and supporting few commonly used ISV products like CA-View, Tape management tool (CA-1), Scheduling tools (BMC InControl, CA-7) etc., Knowledge of USS management Capable of installing regular maintenance (RSUs) Supporting any hardware or software upgrade in the environment Capable of Installing/upgrading CICS and related products on a mainframe Maintain reliability, availability of CICS systems software Good knowledge in usage of transactions like CEMT, CEDA etc., Good Knowledge of SMP/E, SQL, DB2 online and offline utilities, ZPARMS, DB2 logs and BSDS, DB2 Commands, DDF etc. Install and use performance monitoring tools and products(like SAS, MXG, CA-MICS, Strobe and the Omegamon products) Expertise in tuning and debugging performance problems for z/OS systems including application workloads Perform problem diagnostics and resolution.
