Manual testing  (NOT Automation)

The role involves hands-on testing our Merchandise Management-JDA (AS400)/Warehouse Management Systems- PkMS. 
So, candidate with experience on Mainframes in Retail environment is preferred. 

Experience working on PIM (Product Information Management) platform integration is a plus.

The Quality Assurance Analyst reports to Senior QA Manager as part of the Solution Delivery-IT team, to develop well-defined test cases, lead and perform rigorous manual functional testing of the software, investigate defects, and thoroughly document all results.  

Key Roles & Responsibilities: 

Work closely with IT Management, Software developers, and business users to identify testing requirements for new systems and modifications to existing systems.

Collaborate with leadership, business partners, internal and external resources, and QA team to drive strategic deliveries.

Understand and advocate for Agile best practices for all disciplines.

Design and execute manual test plans and scripts to ensure solution works as expected.

Maintain traceability between test documentation and requirements.

Define and utilize standards, methods, or metrics to determine product quality for release.

Develop testing programs/scripts that address areas such as database impacts, functionality, performance, reliability, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.

Document software defects and track them and report defects to software developers.

Perform initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code to determine breakdown source.

Bug fix verification and validation.

Lead and coordinate test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.

Manage test environment for integration testing activities.

Provide feedback to developers on software usability and functionality.

Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts.

Collaborate and coordinate testing efforts with external solution provider partners.

Lead and conduct User Acceptance with  business users and obtain signoff.

Provide post-implementation validation and support for all deliverables.

Investigate customer problems referred by technical support team, as need.

Qualifications & Competencies: 

7 or more years of experience designing and creating Test Case scenarios, testing software and validating data.

3 or more years of experience with SQL and stored procedures in various databases (SQL Server, Sybase, DB2).

Expert understanding of the effects of enhancements test on downstream processes.

Proficient, end-to-end understanding and experience with knowledge of system development life cycles.  

Strong understanding and hands on experience with Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile/SCRUM Methodology.

Working ability to remain effective under stress and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and the organization.

Proficient ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease while maintaining a strong customer service focus.

Consistently demonstrates a commitment to Corporate policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest and ethical responsibilities.

Retail industry experience preferred, especially related to any of the following areas: store operations, warehouse distribution, store allocation, merchandising, marketing, accounting, and finance.

Knowledge of Merchandise Management Systems (JDA), Order Management Systems (OMS), Warehouse Management Systems (PKMS), SAP and .Net application development environments preferred.

Knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS400) operating system and applications preferred.

Ability to take little direction and achieve quality results independently.

Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English, including the ability to provide clear, constructive direction and feedback to team members.

Bachelors degree from an accredited program in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent year-for-year experience preferred.
