Job Description: Need some sort of Guidewire Cloud Certification and Policy Center. Top Skills' Details: 1.) Senior Guidewire Developers (USAA requires all Guidewire resources to be Associates, Specialist or Ace Certified as they are on V10 GWCP. (Check certification at the following site- https://education.guidewire.com/lmt/xlr8login.loginsite=guidewire#certification-checker). 2) Extensive Policy Center experience is required including full Policy life cycle experience, (years of experience with policy center will depend on level of resource but typically juniors will have 5 years of java and 2 or 3 of GW, seniors will have 6+years of GW and leads will have 8-10 years). 3) Strong backgrounds in enterprise Java and building out Web Services (SOAP and REST), Messaging platforms (MQUE, Kafka, JMS). Secondary Skills- Nice to Haves: Description: One of our insurance customers is moving away from their integration partners and building teams internally as they migrate away from Umbrella Insurance to their new Guidewire Cloud Platform. The people we will bring to their teams will be senior and lead level and will guide, teach and coach the more junior members of the team. They must have strong policy center experience and strong insurance domain knowledge. Candidates must have Guidewire Certification. These roles are on the Umbrella side of the house (Policy Center). Need senior candidate in San Antonio, TX and Plano, TX. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree or 4 additional years of experience beyond the minimum requirement can be used in lieu of a degree. 6 years of software development experience demonstrating depth of technical understanding within a specific discipline(s)/technology(s). 4 years of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle to include leading code/design reviews. Basic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL. Demonstrated experience researching technical issues and generating creative/innovative solutions. Demonstrated experience addressing production issues by troubleshooting applications and systems. Experience articulating technical challenges and solutions. Demonstrate strong knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals. Preferred Experience: Experience implementing Guidewire Policy Center in the cloud. Extensive experience integrating, configuring, customizing Guidewire products, especially Policy Center. 6+ years of experience in the Insurance domain. 2+ years of experience in Gosu Development. Tasks: Design, develop, code, and test significant complex cross functional technical solutions that impact multiple areas of disciplines while communicating with internal team members across multiple areas and client functions. Lead code/design reviews to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate planning for multiple teams. Organize work and lead multiple teams to deliver features and solutions. Independently resolves complex production issues and leads troubleshooting of end-to-end solutions that span multiple applications and systems. Mentor and coach junior / experienced engineers. Work with architecture to help define directions for cross functional or highly complex key technologies within a specific domain. May begin advancing professional development through active participation in industry organizations, writing programming publications, pursuing educational opportunities, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Follow written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Must be willing to be on-site. Must be willing and able to convert to USAA employee after 4 months (does their employer know and have they agreed)- get it in writing, find out any details about their visas that would prevent or delay conversion. What mentoring and coaching have they done, how many people, were they onshore or offshore. What is most challenging project they have been a part of.
