Job Description:

As a Network Engineer, you will provide technical and engineering support for various network services, including Local Area Network (LAN) deployments, Wide Area Network (WAN) configurations, Wireless and WIFI connectivity, security systems, remote access systems, and Voice over IP. Your responsibilities also involve creating and maintaining accurate network and system documentation. The network infrastructure includes a mix of Cisco Switches, Routers, and Wireless Access Points, as well as Cisco and Checkpoint Firewalls and VPN services.

Responsibilities:

Tier 2 operational support for NTSD network services.

Configuration, installation, and support of Cisco routers and data switches.

Configuration and installation of Cisco and Checkpoint firewall hardware, including rule analysis and implementation.

Wireless networking setup, coverage analysis, and access point installation.

Hardware load balancing for servers and applications using Big-IP/F5 devices.

Configuration of Virtual Private Networking for user and site remote access.

Writing and modifying configuration scripts for telecommunications systems.

Preparing, modifying, and auditing technical schematics and configuration databases.

Developing guidelines and checklists for tier 1 support personnel.

Migrating legacy systems and performing system upgrades.

Reporting deviations and making recommendations for change.

Conducting product and user requirement user acceptance testing.

Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

Familiarity with Cisco network equipment and configurations, including IOS, IOS XE, and Nexus.

Knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony (IPT), Cisco Wi-Fi, Checkpoint and Cisco Firewalls, and F5 traffic managers.

Understanding of common enterprise networking protocols.

Cisco and Checkpoint certifications are highly desirable.

Ability to work independently and follow enterprise policies and procedures.

Proficiency in common office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Visio, and Excel.

Availability for occasional night and weekend work.

LAN Troubleshooting skills and experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred
