MUST HAVE LINKEDIN We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Microsoft Purview Data Systems Engineer Administrator to support our organization's transition to a new Data Classification standard, executing Microsoft Purview Admin configuration. The consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring effective and most efficient configuration of the Microsoft Data Classification and its related Data Classification Policy/Standard, contributing with their expertise and lessons learned from previous implementations in organizations like Alcoa. This is a temporary position for the duration of the project. Responsibilities: 1. Technical SME consulting: Develop and advise on a comprehensive implementation strategy to support the implementation of the Microsoft Purview Data Governance. Conduct analysis and identify potential resistance points on how Alcoas Global Azure Admins have thus far started the implementation. Create technical documentation to effectively convey the benefits and importance of best practices when implementing Microsoft Purview Data Governance - Data Classification. This documentation is to be used by employees who support and maintain our Azure tenancy. 2. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders from several functional areas and countries (different time zones), including senior management, project team members, and end-users, to build awareness and support for the Data Classification initiative. Facilitate technical workshops and meetings to gather feedback, address concerns, and foster collaboration as appropriate. 3. Training and Education: Assess training needs and develop a training program for technical employees on data classification principles, processes, and tools. Collaborate with subject matter experts to create technical training materials, user guides, and FAQs to support the needs of our technical staff who will need to make changes to our implementation. 4. Change Impact Assessment: Identify and assess the impact of the Data Classification initiative on our existing Azure tenancy, related systems, and workflows. Work closely with functional areas (Azure SME, SEIM, Information Security Incidence Response, etc.) to understand their specific requirements and tailor the implementation approach accordingly. Provide guidance and recommendations on process improvements to align with the Data Classification standard. 5. Lessons Learned and Best Practices: Leverage previous implementation experiences in organizations like Alcoa to identify lessons learned, best practices, and potential pitfalls. Share insights and recommendations based on industry trends and emerging technologies in Data Classification and protection. 6. Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop metrics and measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness and success of the Data Classification implementation. Regularly monitor any Azure anomalies related to Purview, Azure SME feedback, and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement. Make data-driven recommendations and adjustments to enhance the implementation process. ( Please list the names of the companies from your resume where skill was used or gained Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business, math, or related subject, and a significant level of practical experience. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience in Microsoft Purview Data Governance, preferably in large-scale Data Classification or Corporate Information Security projects. Experience working with multinational organizations and familiarity with the challenges and nuances of implementing Data Classification across different geographies and cultures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of successfully managing change and driving organizational adoption. Certification in any Microsoft technical discipline is highly desirable. Experience with DLP, IDS/IPS implementation are desirable.
