Need a Project Manager with Actuary Experience at Sammons..

Minimum 5-7 year experience required..

Requirements:

Actuarial experience, or experience working as a project manager with actuaries, or even more specifically, as a project manager for actuarial modeling software development projects, is a must.

We are also looking for a candidate who is experience in both Agile and Waterfall; while the model development work is largely agile, it must integrate with a reporting process that is largely waterfall, so understanding both and being able to ensure they integrate with each other is key

.

Support development of a Corporate Model Software Development Life Cycle

Responsibilities

                                                                                                                           i.            Facilitate planning of quarterly development & integration (releases) of Corporate Model, including its 4-distinct systems: Data Inputs, Calculation Engine, Data Outputs & Reporting, and Production Process artifacts.

                                                                                                                           ii.            Coordinate leadership to identify goals & priorities

                                                                                                                           iii.            Proactively drive team planning to estimate work, identify dependencies/risks, and develop a list of commitments

                                                                                                                           iv.            Drive discussions / working sessions to guide team through action steps and decisions, applying understanding of actuarial work

                                                                                                                           v.            Present plan to leadership 

                                                                                                                           vi.            Maintain calendar of planning activities, including taking independent action to manage plans

                                                                                                                           vii.            Create roadmaps/checklist to organize and manage work

Support execution of quarterly development & integration (releases)

                                                                                                                                 i.            Track progress of quarterly development & integration, proactively escalating concerns with progress toward goals

                                                                                                                               ii.            Facilitate demonstrations of new functionality and UAT

                                                                                                                             iii.            Coordinate releases

                                                                                                                             iv.            Lead backlog refinement

Coach and promote best-practices to continue upskilling the team on ADO and agile development

                                                                                                                                 i.            Ask questions to mold the tools/approach to fit our teams & model

                                                                                                                               ii.            Identify opportunities (in SDLC) to maximize efficiency in delivering value

Act as a servant leader to drive continuous improvement mindset

                                                                                                                                 i.            Lead retrospective (Inspect & Adapt) workshops

                                                                                                                               ii.            Focus the teams on delivering value and operational excellence

Project-based work and execution of quarter-end production which utilizes the Corporate Model.

Partner with other Corporate Actuarial Project Management staff to ensure we are providing integrated and cross-functional project management to support all of Corporate Actuarial end-to-end processes.
