Job Summary:

Princeton is seeking a skilled and motivated Front-End Developer with expertise in AngularJS to join the Custom Solutions & Integrations (CSI) team. As a front-end developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing user interfaces for custom Java applications using AngularJS and related technologies. You will work closely with the teams Business Analyst and UX/UI design teams to create reusable, visually appealing, responsive, accessible, and interactive user interfaces that provide an exceptional user experience.

The position requires conducting in-depth design analysis while working with other developers, architects, and managers within the Office of Information Technology (OIT), and shepherding projects from concept to completion from a design perspective. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Current initiatives include work in diverse university areas such as The Graduate School, Financial Aid, The Office of the Provost, Finance & Treasury, The Dean of the Faculty, Human Resources, and Undergraduate Admissions, as well as students and faculty.

Job Responsibilities :

Front-end software development
Collaborate with Business Analyst and UX/UI design teams to understand project requirements and translate them into functional user interfaces.
Develop high-quality front end solutions using AngularJS and related technologies while adhering to accessibility standards and best practices.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following accessibility guidelines and coding standards.
Create responsive and interactive user interfaces that are visually appealing, user-friendly, and inclusive for users of all abilities.
Conduct thorough testing of front-end applications to identify and fix defects or issues.
Optimize front end applications for performance and scalability.
Collaborate with back-end developers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end components.
Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to front end development in AngularJS and web technologies.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and practices.
Develop new and enhance existing custom software application designs.
Work directly with business analysts and business partners to determine requirements scope, business priorities, and long-term strategic direction.
Emphasize data security and integrity.
Make application design decisions that satisfy current business needs as well as allow sufficient flexibility to support future changing requirements while also minimizing code and design complexity.
Ensure the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is properly followed for all projects.
Contribute to the technical standards setting process.
Work on special projects as assigned by the CSI manager.
Promote an environment of continual learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL formal education (minimal level REQUIRED for this position)

Bachelors degree or equivalent

ESSENTIAL work experience (minimum experience REQUIRED for this position)

5 + years

ESSENTIAL minimum required knowledge, skills, competencies, and abilities
Expert at HTML and CSS.
Significant experience participating in projects using Agile methodology.
Experience with accessibility and responsive web design.
Familiarity with web services and RESTful APIs.
Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Experience with creating, maintaining, and enhancing design systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with common programming tools such as VS Code, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and Git repositories.

Education: A bachelors degree or equivalent previous experience. A degree in Computer Science or related fields preferred.
