In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications within a zOS 1.13 environment using a variety of tools and technologies including OS/VS Cobol with Report Writer, SoftwareAG Natural/ADABAS, and JCL. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mainframe development, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain software applications using OS/VS Cobol with Report Writer, SoftwareAG Natural/ADABAS, and JCL in a zOS 1.13 environment. Develop and maintain both online and batch functions to meet business requirements. Utilize TSO, Panvalet, COMPLETE, and FileAid to enhance and troubleshoot applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze existing code, and provide feedback on current functionality. Participate in the migration of the Adabas database, ensuring data integrity and seamless transition. Debug, test, and resolve software defects to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Create and maintain technical documentation related to software design, code, and maintenance procedures. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in mainframe development and related technologies. Responsibilities: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Extensive experience in mainframe development using OS/VS Cobol, SoftwareAG Natural/ADABAS, and JCL. Proficiency in working within a zOS 1.13 environment. Experience migrating the Adabas database Strong knowledge of online and batch function development. Experience with TSO, Panvalet, COMPLETE, and FileAid. Experience developing/maintaining online and batch functions Ability to review and analyze existing code, providing insights for improvement. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Prior experience in migrating Adabas databases is a plus.
