Candidates must be willing to re-locate to and live in Jackson, MS. Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree. BCBS of MS can sponsor visa holders.*** BCBS of Mississippi has a claims adjudication application in COBOL on an IBM mainframe and DB2 database. They are looking for a Project Manager to help with upcoming renewals project, modernization projects, automation projects, projects relating to initiatives from the association, and projects they must complete from mandates. They make changes to the claims system so that claims adjudicate at first pass so that a processor doesnt have to process them. Periodic reviews that happen and they have to make routine updates. There are twice yearly releases from the association that they have to push through updates to their systems. All medical claims adjudication apps are in COBOL so these are mission critical applications. This person must have an understading of COBOL and mainfram applications. If this person has a background as a COBOL programmer, great but that is not required. They do need experience either managing COBOL projects or doing COBOL programming. This person must have also worked for a health insurance company and understand the payer business. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Personality someone who has a lot of confidence in their abilities and feels like they can figure it out. They are not looking for someone who will be tentative about everything and cant make decisions. BCBS wants someone that can set a plan and act on those actions.
