Cybersecurity Engineer Location: Dallas, TX or NYC, NY Duration: 6 + months Job Description: Within Technology Risk, the Global Cyber Defense and Intelligence Team (GCDI) identifies malicious activity, manages the lifecycle of vulnerabilities within Client technologies, and investigates and manages threats across the firm. We are a team of security, software, and product engineers that allow the firm to respond appropriately to firm risks through the use of detection models, security architecture, and cutting-edge cyber threat analysis to manage internal and external threats against the firm. Your responsibilities will include managing large scale deployment of agent and upgrade, you will be an SME of different Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and will work with divisions and the Global Cyber Defense & Intelligence team to implement and manage WAF security infra. You will have extensive hands-on technical skills on WAF management for a variety of agents. Responsibilities include: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports ensuring 100% agent coverage across target population Agent life cycle management and heath tracking Partner with engineering, advisory, architecture, and development teams to choose appropriate security agent solutions for adoption into the firm environment Interface with vendors to resolve issues, troubleshoot bugs, and engage on new features Create, deploy, maintain and troubleshoot WAF policies for new and existing web applications Manage WAF configuration for enterprise Review vulnerabilities that impact web applications and develop WAF Virtual Patching solutions Monitor and analyze activity logs to detect malicious internet traffic and indicators of compromise as well as to reduce false positive blocks Review WAF usage and define means to improve and mature protection policies Understand web applications at a sufficient level to work with developers to implement protective controls that may need to be customized for specific applications Interpret web protocol information to determine source, intent, and risk of threat agents Provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolve problems to ensure infrastructure and application stability Participate in technical design activities to ensure a sound design and any infrastructure impact is understood Create and maintain technical documentation regarding the WAF infrastructure including network diagrams, policies and operational procedures for managing the infrastructure. Work closely with Application Engineering and Cyber Security teams to ensure security requirements are met and web-applications are adequately protected from cyber-attacks Review vulnerability scan output and assess where WAF configuration can be used to mitigate attacks Basic understanding of data flow technologies such as routing, natting, arps and associated command line tools such as tcpdump Awareness of mainstream operating systems and a wide range of security technologies including network firewall, IPS, and web proxy. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to various audiences Conceptual and analytical skills with demonstrable problem-solving skills Experience with deploying and utilizing a wide variety of SaaS solutions Experience in deploying security agents like Signal Sciences, Akamai, or Cloud Flare at large scale Hands-on experience in supporting and maintaining critical applications with a low downtime tolerance Skilled at developing and implementing incident response plans that mitigate downtime and ensure quick recovery Expertise in monitoring application performance and implementing optimization (tuning) to ensure smooth operation Experience in running information security projects in a global environment. Experience as a Linux or Windows systems administrator or engineer Demonstrated knowledge of WAF policy development for protecting applications Reviewing security techniques and technologies regularly to remain aware of best practice Full understanding of the application project life cycle and process/procedure design. Knowledge and hands-on experience of security tools. Experience in IPS, WAF, Load Balancers, Firewalls and Network Security 5+ years of security engineering experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS One of the following certifications or equivalent: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Linux+, or equivalent certifications Network security management experience Experience in security vulnerability scanning.
