Job Description: This is the key to this spot: FlexPod is a Cisco UCS product - Combo of Cisco UCS/FlexPod and VMware Key Responsibilities: Provide SME level support of FlexPod converged technology, focusing on individual tiers including VMware for virtualization & Cisco compute as well as a good understanding of NetApp storage. Including but not limited to patching, upgrades, provisioning, troubleshooting as well as monitoring proactively for any potential issues in a Global multi regional environment. Engage with run team as needed for support and training. Maintain or create documentation as required. Determine requirements, develop specifications, architect a solution, and implement it. Ensure project status reports to stakeholders are submitted by ensuring regular and accurate updates of projects and activities. Participate in regular team calls as well as meeting where presence is required. Automate & orchestrate where possible. Act as a technical touch point for members of the team, offering guidance, coaching and support. Ensure operational standards are adhered to. This includes actively looking to continuously improve working practices to ensure the team works as efficiently as possible. Follow team procedures, identify gaps, and resolve effectively. Including the Business/Disaster Recovery program. Requirements: 5 years of experience with the following: Ability to understand the current architectural designs and troubleshoot at the Cisco UCS/VMware/Storage and operating platform level to support the business continuity of High-value Asset and general workload applications including and not limited to SQL and Oracle databases, VMware VDI platform and Windows based applications and services. Converged infrastructure experience on Flexpod highly desired. Storage Technologies Like iSCSI, FC, NAS, vSAN, vVols. Virtualization Technologies including VMWare, vRealize Operations. Designing implementation and management/troubleshooting VMware vSphere v8.x, vROps. MS Window platform including Windows 2012/2016/2019. Networking concepts: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing Deployment of patches, updates, service packs using both native and 3rd party tools 3 years of experience with the following: Cisco UCS that includes management of Cisco UCS infrastructure using UCS Central, management and maintenance of Fabric Interconnects, IOMs, Chassis and M4/M5 model servers. Cisco MDS 9000 series SAN switches, installation, configuration, and administration. Proficiency in policy driven concepts in Cisco UCS infrastructure, including UCS Domains, Service Profile, Ethernet, and FC related policies. Proven experience in overseeing the design, implementation and management of Compute and Storage technologies. Proven experience with systems planning, Compatibility matrices, general system management best practices. Proficiency in designing and implementing DR and Recovery Solutions. Experience with automation & scripting desirable. Fabric switching technologies, including implementation of best practices to include VSAN/Domain, soft zoning, security, etc. Automation experience including Power/Ansible/Terraform scripting a plus Experience with Cisco intersight would be a bonus. Experience with cloud providers AWS, Azure would be a bonus.
