Role: PL SQL DBA Location: Louisville, KY (Permanent remote) Experience level: 10+ years Description: The PL SQL DBA manages and maintains all production and non-production databases. Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration. The PL SQL DBA work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. The PL SQL DBA performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost. Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, systems feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures. Required Qualifications: 10-12 years of technical/DBA experience. Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal). Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge on data archival. Experience in SQL performance tuning, DB environment monitoring/support, implementing design and maintenance of database structures, and best practice in backing up and restoring databases.
