This position located in Columbus, OH. Battelles Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Defense business line, in our National Security business unit, is currently seeking persons with knowledge of physical/mathematical phenomena and programming savvy. The Hazard Modeling Team within CBRNE Defense provides its customers with technical analyses as well as modeling capabilities to inform their preparedness and response planning efforts to mitigate risk to the United States or their company. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to make this Nation and Battelles clients safer and better prepared. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Develop object-oriented code in a multi-developer, multi-branched code repository environment to support various software applications. Architect and develop multitier cloud deployed application. Design and develop graphical user interfaces for predictive mathematical models. Model testing for accuracy and performance. Develop knowledge management (e.g., database) and collaboration applications. Create software development artifacts, technical presentations, and written reports. Lead software development teams in an Agile development process/environment Oversee software testing, including automated unit testing, integration testing, and UX/UI testing Mentor junior software developers. THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED At least 9 years of experience in a non-academic software development environment Bachelors, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Computer Science Engineering. Full stack software development experience with significant programming experience in C#, ASP.NET, and Javascript. Experience designing and implementing software architecture Experience in PostgreSQL or similar relational database. Experience overseeing large software development projects. Strong understanding of DevOps principles and continuous integration continuous delivery US Citizenship. Capability to obtain a DoD Security clearance (Note: Supplier must be able to submit, obtain, and hold the clearance) THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED Experience deploying and managing cloud Applications on AWS or Azure Strong understanding and experience using C++ Experience with advanced data analysis techniques, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, or natural language processing. Experience with probability and statistics.
