Job Title: Electrical Engineer Location: Peoria, IL-Onsite Duration: 6+ months Interview: Phone/ Skype-2Rounds Visa: NoH1B, CPT &OPT LinkedIn Must have Job Description: Role and Overview: Looking for someone who worked in a product development environment either designing a product or testing a product. Work on Product regulation, product standards and the compliance of those standards and regulation. Will be working on a daily basis with our product development engineers, our validation engineers, our test engineers to make sure that what we are designing, what we are testing.and what we are getting back in test reports. Will be all electrification based, typically battery, electric vehicle type systems. So batteries, chargers, charging systems. inverters, motors and all the associated components. Main role is just to work with engineers to help them understand what we must legally do and what the safety standards say and then create some documentation Top Skills: Understanding Designing or testing electrical products, Understanding the key safety aspects, like internal resistance testing or over voltage categories creepage and clearance. Understanding safety elements of designing electrical systems Risk assessments or DFMEA Understanding ISO and IEC safety standards is plus Soft Skills:(Required) Self-Motivated and Dynamic Being able to self-learn Negotiation skills Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering required with 4-5 years experience required. Master's degree in engineering required with 3 years experience required. Typical task breakdown: Develop an understanding of industry safety standards and support product development. Communication of requirements to Engineering teams, ensuring that actions are clearly agreed, and delivered to timelines. Facilitation of Risk Assessment sessions, evaluation of products against standards, compile functional safety assessments, and the development of risk mitigation plans. Support the resolution of technical issues in line with industry standards. Compile compliance documentation for submission to certification bodies Develop and implement Lean processes for the delivery of compliant products and management of risks Interaction with team: Working across a range of product development teams, the candidate will liaise with the Compliance Lead and Design/Development engineers to build an understanding of the product and its regulatory requirements. Work environment: Hybrid Work pattern, with expectation of at least 3 days per week in the office in Building AC. Technical Skills: (Required) Qualification in an engineering discipline relevant to Electrification and Electric powertrain component development. Experienced engineer with background in product development. An ability to review and apply product standards such as IEC 60204-1, ISO 12100 and ISO 13849, and provide guidance to engineers and other business functions. Experience of developing technical reports that demonstrate product capability for use in compliance certifications and homologation. (Desired) Experience or Qualifications in Risk Assessment, Safety Risk Management, or Functional Safety. Experience with electrical safety standards, product regulatory requirements, product validation or DFMEA. Soft Skills: (Required) Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks with an ability to successfully deliver to firm timing and quality targets. Strong commitment to product safety and quality, with excellent communication / influencing skills at all levels. Proven ability to build strategic working relationships, understand business constraints, and resolve conflict through compromise and consensus building.
