Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Peoria, IL(Open to candidates willing to relocate) Duration: 12+ Months Dept overview: Power electronics and motors org. Med voltage motors. 14 projects Role: Work with team lead to prioritize activities for different projects. For one role will like someone with more of a lead role. Design support on new projects. Other teams do CFD/FEA etc analysis and detailing. So this is a plus not required. But gives a candidate an edge. As they start new programs they use APQP and PPAP methodologies If he finds two solid designers and no lead will take the two. Will take the team lead if there is one. Still needs the person to have design skills and experience. Odds go down if they dont have design experience. APQP/PPAP experience is good. Looking for 1 person with focused experience in Designing. Another person can be more of a Lead who can manage multiple projects and streamline the process (With Design experience). Top skills: Self-starter, problem solver. Some projects dont have straightforward tasks. CAD skills preferably creo but open to other tools Ability to listen Problem-Solving/Critical Thinking Education/experience: Bachelors degree in engineering required - 5-7 years total engineering experience Masters Degree in engineering will be considered. Less yrs is ok if their skills are along the skills sought. Open to 1.5yrs Open to university projects to demonstrate skills Knowledge of shafts and bearings but open to electrical eng for design Open to candidates with good relevant skills and fewer years of experience Associate degree will not work, need 4 year's degree Positions Contributions to Work Group: Support engineer providing design and detailing for motor and resistor grid designs Typical task breakdown: CAD design and detailing Teardown follow-up and analysis Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew. Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software. Interaction with team: Weekly / Daily meetings Work environment: Strong collaboration Technical Skills: (Required) Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD). CAD Detailing Excel computation Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Experience with Teamcenter and Creo (Desired) Previous Client experience (1E specs etc) FEA analysis EM/Thermal motor analysis CFD analysis Rotating component/structural design background Soft Skills: (Required) Strong communicator, both verbal and written Heavy initiative Analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented.
