Please let me know if you are interested in the position Title : Project Manager Location : Austin, TX , 2-3 days on site at their office Duration: 6+ Months Visa : No H1b/CPT Job Description Overview: A public sector client of ours in Austin, Texas is looking for a Project Manager - Vendor Platform Implementation for a 1-year hybrid contract opportunity that is likely to extend. Due to the nature of the role, they are currently only considering local candidates that are currently residing around the Austin area at this time. This role requires can require up to 2-3 days on site at their office. Our client is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead the coordination and implementation of a new vendor platform. This role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and technical coordination skills to ensure a smooth onboarding process. The Project Manager will work closely with vendors, stakeholders, and agency leadership to facilitate integration efforts, address technical challenges, and maintain clear communication. Given the variety of technical environments across stakeholders, including both widely adopted and homegrown systems, this position demands adaptability and problem-solving skills. Success in this role will require proactive planning, risk mitigation, and collaboration to ensure seamless stakeholder integration with the new platform. This role is ideal for a highly skilled IT Project Manager with expertise in vendor coordination, stakeholder engagement, and technical integration efforts, ensuring the seamless rollout of a new vendor platform in a government environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Vendor Coordination & Implementation Support Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and vendor during platform onboarding. Facilitate a structured rollout across all participating counties. Support requirement gathering, troubleshooting, and process refinement for county onboarding. 2. Stakeholder Engagement Ensure clear communication and alignment of expectations across stakeholders. Identify and document key contacts, technical resources, and system capabilities. Conduct regular meetings, workshops, and status updates to track project progress. 3. Technical Integration & Platform Interfacing Support stakeholders in integrating with the new platform, including file uploads, configurations, and API use. Work with stakeholders to understand their existing systems and liaise with technical teams to align data formats, transmission methods, and security protocols. 4. Project Coordination & Execution Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, ensuring timely task execution and milestone tracking. Track and mitigate risks, escalating issues as needed to maintain project continuity. Coordinate testing, training, and knowledge transfer activities for users. 5. Process Documentation & Reporting Maintain comprehensive documentation of onboarding processes, technical workflows, and county-specific configurations. Provide regular reports and updates to agency leadership on project status, risks, and key decisions. Capture lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle. 6. Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the vendor to resolve onboarding challenges and technical issues. Facilitate troubleshooting sessions and document resolutions for recurring issues. Ensure compliance with IT security and data governance policies. 7. Change Management & Communication Develop clear communication plans to keep stakeholders informed of project changes and expectations. Support stakeholders in adapting to new processes and minimizing disruptions. Provide training and reference materials to ensure successful adoption. Minimum Qualifications: 8+ years Experience managing large-scale IT projects, preferably in government or public-sector environments. 8+ years Proven ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and integration efforts. 8+ years Experience developing and executing project plans, managing timelines, and mitigating risks. 8+ years Strong ability to engage and communicate with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies and external vendors. 8+ years Experience coordinating with government entities and managing distributed teams. 8+ years Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide clear guidance, reports, and documentation. 5+ years Experience conducting meetings, training sessions, and status updates with stakeholders at various levels. 5+ years Familiarity with data exchange methods, including file uploads, APIs, and system integrations. 5+ years Certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years Experience working in a complex multi-vendor or multi-team IT environment. 5+ years Experience working on public-sector IT projects, particularly those involving large-scale system rollouts.
