ABOUT THE ROLE Lead cybersecurity engineer to help the CIO plan and implement key initiatives as well as manage vulnerabilities and security operations and incidents across the IT team, including responding to threats, ensuring compliance and managing threats with ITD and IS professionals. Overseeing the day-to-day management of security activities in partnership with IS and IT, including regular reporting to the CIO. This including daily monitoring of events, logs and/or anomalies with IS and IT staff. Help in managing future architecture designs of networks, applications and environments to ensure data captured in sufficient to help monitor security. Security Operations Center (SOC) - Security monitoringtool and staff to manage it. CISSP or CISM would be nice but not mandatory. Also, check the dates on the utility bills, seeing fake ones there too. Not all jobs require a local candidate or face to face. -The sooner we submit the better. Although they will NOT interview prior to 5 days from the job coming out. (ie: job comes out Tuesday, the VMS Manager will shortlist candidates Sunday night and then tell the hiring manager who is shortlisted on Monday, interviews will happen Tuesday thru Friday) -Summary paragraph is HUGE!!! That paragraph should tell the hiring mgr why to hire the person!!! (look at the job description). This needs to be well written. This is where you can also mention they have family in Virginia, went to college in Virginia, family in Virginia or other personal information that helps to sell the candidate. -RTR. We will send a RTR for the candidate to sign. On the RTR is the name of client State of Virginia (including Department), Position and Position # on it. If a candidate gets submitted twice to the same job, they are disqualified from the job (no one gets representation). -Once we get interview days and times for candidates, they MUST accept one of the days and times given or they will pass on them. If the job requires face to face and the candidate delays doing face to face or claims an emergency where they cannot do a face to face, they will be eliminated and we get a black mark.
