Title: Sr. Data Product Owner

Location: Owings Mills, MD (Hybrid but must be able to be onsite day 1)

DESCRIPTION:

Compass Pointe has partnered with a global financial company in the Owings Mills, MD area that is looking to hire a Sr Data Product Owner. Will be responsible to improve usability of data in Distribution Data Platforms. This individual will work closely with various teams within Global Distribution Enablement and technology teams to understand data challenges along with underlying business needs and analyze them in context of broader use of client data across business groups.  You should be passionate about data and data analysis, can connect and communicate with technical and non-technical partners and can lead cross-functional teams through complex data issues from identification to root cause and ultimately to the solution. This individual will ensure that agile teams receive the information they need to create comprehensive, quality solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

             Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

             Minimum one year experience working on CRM data with asset managers providing data management, and sales operations.

             Prior experience in project management, especially in Agile environment to deliver end to end delivery.

             Applies a lean-agile mind-set to work and supports organizational agility

             High sense of urgency and follow through. Partnering effectively to execute on common goals.

             Superb communication skills to explain big story around various data scenarios and drive common understanding of problem in hand along with the proposed solution.

             Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build the trust and confidence of colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialog and interactions, and collaborate well with others internally and externally.

             Ability to draw own conclusions, articulate positions, communicate key messages, make recommendations, and influence in a team.

             Drive multi-disciplinary teams through product life cycle, requirements, planning, design, development, and testing. 

             Leverages extensive knowledge of data analysis life cycle. Advocates data standards within cross-functional teams to ensure data are regarded as accurate, timely, reliable, and trusted by business collaborators.

             Play a central role in the analysis of the needs of business units, partnering with information technology to deliver on those needs, and may serve as a translator between those groups.

             Breakdown complex or vague problems and steps through them in a rational way to find opportunities for process improvements

             Ensure data enrichment rules applied to vendor datasets for financial intermediaries, institutions, and retirement plan sponsors are analyzed and documented.

             Acts as a consultant to the business on complex data quality issues. Ensures that data quality analyses provided to internal teams has root-cause and solution identified and prioritized for remediation.

             Propose recommendations which considers current and future business priorities, together with fiscal responsibility.

             Work with various groups, i.e., Operations, Compliance, Sales and Marketing, and Technology. 

             Collaborate with salesforce users and downstream consumers to track and document business processes supported by key data elements.

             Drive investigations, analyses, and evaluations to document data requirements for agile team.

             Makes recommendations to change council, product owners, and other senior professionals based on findings.

             Support product managers(s) in meetings and presentations (e.g., Meeting notes, presentation materials, business reviews / sign-off).

             Drive continuous improvement and refinement sessions to capture sequencing and prioritization of user stories.

BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE:

             Strong communication skills and able to work without direction in a team environment

             Strong soft skills with a human-centric approach to change management
