Job Title: Software Engineer Location: Germantown, MD Employment Type: Contract Duration: 12 Months Contractor - Software Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division with Top Secret Clearance. Candidate must have C/C++ skills, is energetic, creative and team oriented to work on latest SATCOM modem and networking technologies. The individual will be part of an engineering team that develops embedded networking and application software using latest toolchains in an agile software development environment. The position is based in our Germantown, Maryland office. Responsibilities Software design, development, integration and support activities Actively participate in software development Complete development tasks within agreed timebox Analyse and resolve software issues Requirements Bachelors degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field 5+ years of software development experience in C/C++ and automated unit testing 5+ years of experience in network protocols, packet processing, socket programming; messaging libraries and scheduling Must be capable of obtaining and holding a U.S. government TS clearance Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field Experience with scripting languages Python/, source control systems (e.g. GIT) Experience with web development viz.
