The role requires expertise in routing, firewall configurations, VPNs, network automation, and cloud integrations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking protocols and hands-on experience with VyOS in enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities: Network Design & Implementation: Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure using VyOS. Configure and optimize routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.). Implement network security policies and firewall rules in VyOS. Advanced Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnoses and resolve complex L3 networking issues. Perform root cause analysis for recurring network problems. Collaborate with L1/L2 teams to provide escalation support. Security & Firewall Management: Configure and maintain firewall policies, NAT, ACLs, and IDS/IPS. Monitor and respond to security threats in the network. VPN & Remote Access Solutions: Deploy and manage VPN solutions (IPSec, OpenVPN, WireGuard). Troubleshoot site-to-site and remote access VPN connections. Cloud & Automation Integration: Integrate VyOS with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Develop automation scripts using Ansible, Python, or Bash for network management. Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor network performance using SNMP, NetFlow, and Syslog. Optimize bandwidth utilization and reduce network latency. Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed network documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ensure compliance with industrys best practices and security frameworks. Required Skills & Experience: Experience: 12+ years in network engineering with at least 2+ years working with VyOS. Networking Expertise: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VRF, and MPLS. Routing & Switching: Experience with dynamic and static routing (OSPF, BGP). Security & Firewalls: Understanding of firewall policies, IDS/IPS, NAT, and ACLs. VPN Technologies: Hands-on experience with IPSec, OpenVPN, and WireGuard. Cloud Networking: Familiarity with AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Networks, or GCP networking. Automation & Scripting: Knowledge of Ansible, Python, or Bash for network automation. Monitoring Tools: Experience with SNMP, Zabbix, Grafana, or Prometheus. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: CCNP, JNCIP, or VyOS Specialist certification. Knowledge of Linux Networking: Understanding iptables, nftables, and network namespaces.
