Performance & Monitoring: Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries to ensure high availability. Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using , Python, or Ansible to streamline database operations. Database Design: Design and implement new databases based on business requirements and user traffic. Replication & Recovery: Set up and manage database replication and disaster recovery processes. Data Integrity & Security: Manage data access controls, audit trails, and ensure compliance with data governance policies. Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify and resolve platform-specific performance issues and coding errors. Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular performance reports and provide recommendations for system improvements. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with application teams and infrastructure engineers to align database strategies with business goals. Required Skills & Experience: 57 years of experience as a Database Engineer or Database Administrator (DBA). Expertise in SAP ASE/Sybase installation, configuration, tuning, and support. Strong Linux experience working in a Linux-based environment (not Windows). Experience with database replication, setup, troubleshooting, and failovers. Proficiency in scripting (, Python, or Ansible). Hands-on experience with Redis and Postgres is a plus. Experience with schema creation, deployment, and maintenance. Strong understanding of performance tuning and query optimization. Knowledge of disaster recovery setup and maintenance. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. Nice to Have: Financial and banking industry experience. Experience with SAP ASE 16. Familiarity with automation tools and CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of data governance and security standards.
