Position Overview: Jefferies is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for its Equity Derivative trading application. This role focuses on developing automated testing tools, conducting functional analysis, and ensuring quality assurance for in-house derivative products. Primary Responsibilities: Collaborate with QA and development leaders to prioritize manual test cases and identify areas for automation. Develop automated testing tools for the QA team using a standardized approach to reduce ongoing support needs. Provide automation training and support to expand team capabilities in automated testing. Analyze application requirements, design and execute test scenarios & UAT test cases, and provide feedback on functional documentation. Influence stakeholders at all levels to ensure deliverables meet quality standards. Advocate for innovative solutions via backend/API automation to improve testing strategies. Work independently with minimal supervision. Create and execute test plans and testing strategies to enhance software quality. Desired Experience / Skills: 5+ years of experience automating manual test cases for C#/.NET/C++ applications, preferably via backend. Strong experience in scripting languages like Python. Hands-on experience with UFT (Unified Functional Test), Test Complete, Ranorex, or any other UI/front-end test automation tools. Experience working with tools like JIRA, HP ALM, and QTest. DevOps integration tools experience (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins, Bitbucket, SonarQube). In-depth understanding of Software Testing principles. Experience with FIX protocol and messaging platforms like MQ/Kafka. Strong knowledge of SDLC & QA processes. Domain expertise in Capital Markets , including Derivatives (Bonds, Options, Futures, Swaps). Experience testing BFSI (Banking & Financial Industry) applications, with a proper understanding of the Trade Lifecycle. Hands-on expertise in manual functional testing.
