JOB DESCRIPTION:

Role: Sharepoint Administrator

Work location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa Or Hybrid

Requirement for a SharePoint Administrator

1.Requirement is to migrate Classic SharePoint 2013 Sites to latest SharePoint Online

2.This will be a full migration (duration 6+ months)

3.Potential risks and mitigation plans should be in place before the migration

4.Need to completely migrate the sites and the ones that cannot be migrated need to be created from in the new SharePoint Online

5.Must be expert in Power Automate to create the existing or new necessary workflows in SharePoint Online.

6.Must be expert in using Sharegate tool to perform the migration.

7.Must be able to create SharePoint sites and libraries as and when needed.

8.Post migration validation procedures must be in place to validate the migration successfully.

9.A proper existing user mapping, data volume, critical data points , if needed needs to be preserved (permissions, metadata, versions)

10.Must be expert in planning Site Structure, organization and defining the user groups and users that need to be mapped.

Source Environment Details:

Classic SharePoint 2013

Approximate number of site collections - 380 subsites (approximately)

Estimated Data Size - 5179607 MB (approximately 5180 GB)

Target Environment Details:

SharePoint Online.

Planned Structure and Organization.

Migration Strategy:

Full migration.

Data cleansing and preparation steps.

Migration Tool selection (ShareGate Migration Tool).

User permission mapping strategy.

Define user accounts mapping from the source to the target environment.

Potential Risks and Mitigation:

Data loss scenarios and prevention measures.

Network bandwidth limitations and solutions.

Post-Migration Validation:

Data integrity checks.

User access verification.

Performance testing.

Permissions Management:

Carefully plan how to transfer permissions to the new environment to maintain access control.

User Training:

Provide adequate training for users to familiarize them with the new SharePoint environment and features.

Provide training to SharePoint Admin/owners to maintain access, create new SharePoint Sites and workflows using Power Automate for them to be able to continue the maintenance of new SharePoint site after migration.
