Strong grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts and software design patterns. Hands-on experience in developing and testing software for medical devices, ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304 regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Software Development & Implementation: Design, develop, and maintain reliable and scalable software solutions in C++ for medical device applications. Implement features supporting diagnostic, monitoring, and therapeutic medical systems. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Ensure software development complies with industry regulations, including IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and FDA guidelines. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for design, code, and validation processes to support regulatory audits and submissions. Testing & Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive unit, integration, and system-level tests. Perform requirement validation, test case development, and test coverage analysis, incorporating shift-left testing practices. Conduct automated and manual testing to ensure safety, reliability, and efficacy of medical devices. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with system architects, quality assurance, and regulatory teams throughout the development lifecycle. Provide technical input during design reviews, audits, and regulatory submissions. Continuous Improvement & Best Practices: Continuously enhance software performance, scalability, and maintainability. Stay current on emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in medical device software development. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong proficiency in C++ programming. Expertise in object-oriented design and software design patterns. Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in regulated environments. Thorough understanding of IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and FDA medical device standards. Proficient in using tools like Git, JIRA, and Azure DevOps for version control and project management. Preferred Skills: Prior experience testing and developing Class II and III medical device software. Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, USB, BLE, or TCP/IP.
