Experience adding/removing replica and shard nodes in MongoDB clusters as needed. Strong understanding of shard key selection and ensuring even distribution of data across multiple shards. Expertise in converting replica sets to sharded clusters due to data size growth and query rate optimization. In-depth knowledge of upgrades and migrations of ReplicaSets and Sharded Clusters. Proficient in deploying, migrating data, monitoring, analyzing, and tuning MongoDB for optimal performance. Extensive experience with MongoDB Ops Manager and Ops Manager upgrades. Expertise in configuring Groups and Projects in Ops Manager. Knowledge of MongoDB authentication, authorization, and X509 authentication, as well as SSL key file configuration to implement security across all mongod instances. Strong understanding of MongoDB replication architecture, change streams, and high availability strategies. Ability to document MongoDB installations, operations, security, and auditing across multiple environments. Proficient in query plan architecture, performance tuning at both the host and database levels. Knowledge of range-based and hash-based sharding and indexing. Experience migrating MongoDB clusters to AWS. Expertise in MongoDB scaling across data centers. Experience with MongoDB's High Availability (HA) strategies including ReplicaSets and Sharded Clusters. Experience with initial sync of replica sets and Oplog resize. Ability to troubleshoot issues related to Slow Secondary Sync and Wired Tiger Cache Management. Knowledge of Arbiter for High Availability. Ability to manage high Oplog generation and tune Oplog size accordingly. Experience with MongoDump and MongoRestore operations. Expertise in managing MongoDB read/write concerns. Desirable Skills: Expertise in MongoDB multi-node sharded cluster and replica set design, installation, and configuration on Linux platforms. Strong problem-solving skills for MongoDB-related issues, including ticket management (read/write tickets, resolving issues related to secondary sync, etc.). In-depth knowledge of MongoDB performance tuning and optimization techniques. Experience with MongoDB migrations and upgrades (ReplicaSet/Shared Cluster). Familiarity with MongoDB's data replication, security, and scaling mechanisms. Ability to collaborate with development teams to ensure effective MongoDB database management and performance improvements. Responsibilities: Design and implement multi-node MongoDB sharded clusters and replica sets. Perform upgrades, migrations, and tuning of MongoDB clusters to meet growing data needs. Configure and manage MongoDB Ops Manager for seamless database management and monitoring. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MongoDB cluster health, data replication, and performance. Ensure the secure configuration of MongoDB instances, including SSL encryption and authentication mechanisms. Collaborate with teams to implement and maintain best practices for MongoDB database management across all environments. Provide documentation and reporting for MongoDB systems and operations. Assist in the migration and scaling of MongoDB clusters to cloud environments, particularly AWS. Competencies: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
