Hello

Hope all is well,

My name is Raghu Prasad, and I am a representative at Blue Ocean Ventures, a Search firm based out of Atlanta. I work closely with some of the leading Global IT Management Consulting companies for their hiring needs in the United States

Role: Data Architect (Healthcare Domain Exp is Must)

Remote

PP No is Must

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy for a healthcare application automating the prior authorization process for health insurance companies in the United States.
In this role, you will focus on migrating our on-prem MS SQL and PostgreSQL databases to Azure using the Strangler pattern, ensuring minimal disruption and a seamless transition. You will leverage event-driven and domain-driven design principles to build scalable,
resilient data architectures, while adopting a cloud-agnostic approach to ensure flexibility across potential cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

      Data Architecture Design:

Lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive data architecture strategy, specifically designed to migrate and modernize our existing on-prem MS SQL and PostgreSQL databases to Azure. Utilize the Strangler pattern to facilitate
a gradual migration, ensuring that legacy systems are incrementally replaced with modern cloud-native solutions.

      Event-Driven & Domain-Driven Design:

Apply event-driven and domain-driven design principles to enable real-time, event-based data processing. Work with cross-functional teams to model healthcare-specific domains and ensure that the application architecture supports both event-based
workflows and data consistency across distributed systems.

      Data Modeling:

Develop and optimize data models for both transactional and analytical systems, ensuring consistency, reliability, and accuracy of data. Your expertise will drive the design of databases that support prior authorization automation, ensuring
smooth operations for health insurance processes and stakeholders.

      Data Integration:

Design and implement end-to-end data integration solutions to consolidate and move data from on-prem MS SQL and PostgreSQL environments into a cohesive, accessible cloud environment. Leverage the latest Azure technologies to streamline
data flows and ensure seamless integration with other business systems.

      Strangler Migration Strategy:

Oversee the implementation of the Strangler pattern in migrating legacy databases to Azure. Develop a phased migration approach that reduces risk and ensures continuity of business operations while transitioning from on-prem systems to
cloud-native solutions.

      Cloud-Agnostic Approach:

Although the primary migration target is Azure, you will design the architecture to be cloud-agnostic, ensuring that the application remains adaptable to future cloud environments, providing flexibility and scalability across multiple platforms.

      Data Governance & Compliance:

Implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Your role will ensure that data governance is upheld at all stages of the migration
and integration process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

10-15 years proven experience in data architecture, specifically in migrating on-prem MS SQL and PostgreSQL databases to the cloud (preferably Azure).

Expertise in implementing Strangler pattern for legacy database migrations, ensuring minimal impact and seamless transitions.

Strong background in event-driven and domain-driven design principles, with experience in creating event-based architectures for scalable and resilient systems.

Experience with Azures modern data stack, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Event Grid, and Azure Databricks.

Deep knowledge of data modeling for both operational and analytical systems, with a focus on transactional data and healthcare-specific workflows like prior authorization.

Familiarity with cloud-agnostic solutions and technologies to design flexible, scalable architectures across multiple cloud platforms.

In-depth understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance, and the need for secure, reliable data management in the healthcare industry.

Expertise in Strangler pattern migrations, Azure, and cloud-native architectures.

Proven experience with event-driven and domain-driven design in healthcare applications.

Strong background in data modeling, integration, and working with Azure data stack.

Cloud-agnostic mindset with experience in cross-platform design.

Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HIPAA, prior authorization).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with microservices and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to support cloud-native applications.

Familiarity with the prior authorization process in healthcare and related technologies (e.g., EDI, HL7, FHIR).

Certifications in Azure or other cloud-related fields are a plus
