Job Title : Network Engineer L3

Location : Sayre, PA (Onsite)

Duration : 12+ Months

Job Description :
Roles and Responsibilities: 

Network Design: Develop and design network architecture, including LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks), VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and other network components. Consider the organization's requirements, current technology, scalability, and future growth.

Network Implementation
: Plan and oversee the implementation of network solutions, including network hardware, software, and protocols. Coordinate with vendors, system administrators, and other IT staff to ensure a smooth deployment of the network infrastructure.

Network Security
: Implement security measures and protocols to protect the organization's network infrastructure from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and data breaches. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to network security.

Network Performance Optimization
: Monitor and analyse network performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize network performance. Implement solutions to enhance network efficiency, reliability, and speed, including load balancing, traffic shaping, and Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms.

Network Troubleshooting and Maintenance
: Diagnose and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, network outages, and performance degradation. Perform regular network maintenance tasks, such as software upgrades, patch management, and hardware replacement.

Network Documentation
: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory. Document network changes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Network Planning and Strategy
: Collaborate with IT managers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to develop long-term network plans and strategies. Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to ensure the network infrastructure aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.

Vendor Management: Evaluate and select network hardware, software, and service providers. Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and oversee the procurement process for network equipment and services.

Team Collaboration and Leadership
: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as system administrators, security professionals, and software developers, to integrate network solutions with other IT systems. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior network engineers and administrators.

Network Monitoring and Reporting
: Implement network monitoring tools and systems to proactively monitor the health, performance, and security of the network infrastructure. Generate regular reports, analyze network trends, and present findings to management for decision-making and future planning.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Professional certifications in Avaya - Extreme Networks

Strong knowledge of Extreme Network devices 

Working experience across Hybrid technologies

Strong knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and architectures, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks.

Experience with network design and implementation in enterprise environments.

Proficient in network troubleshooting tools and techniques.

Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Up-to-date knowledge of emerging network technologies and trends
