The organization's cloud strategy includes upgrading and replacing legacy on-premises systems with next-generation architecture through vendor-hosted solutions or custom development within an enterprise hybrid cloud environment. This role will focus on developing and coordinating a cloud strategy and architecture to meet performance standards cost-effectively. The selected candidate will deliver plans and technical roadmaps that enable business transformations, workload migrations, and infrastructure modernization using Microsoft Azure. Resources & Work Environment The contractor will primarily work remotely, with office space provided as needed. HHSDC will supply all necessary hardware and software for daily use. The contractor is responsible for personal expenses, including parking. Key Responsibilities Cloud Strategy & Architecture Evaluate business requirements and design best-fit architecture solutions. Develop and implement cloud and hybrid solutions using Microsoft Azure. Ensure alignment with IT strategy, business goals, and industry advancements. Lead workload migrations, including application migrations to Azure. Project & Solution Management Manage assignments and track progress against agreed timelines. Plan, prioritize, and coordinate work efforts with HHSDC teams. Provide recommendations on cloud strategy, enterprise architecture, and solution implementation. Collaborate with IT teams to establish enterprise-level architecture standards. Research and recommend solutions to optimize cloud-based infrastructures. Technical Leadership & Development Participate in requirements gathering and technical evaluations. Develop and maintain technical roadmaps and solution designs. Provide technical guidance for solution implementation, including CI/CD pipelines. Ensure cloud security, governance, and compliance with industry standards. Support application migration from on-premises to Azure. Stakeholder Collaboration & Documentation Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Present technical concepts and project updates to IT and leadership teams. Maintain detailed technical and procedural documentation. Provide knowledge transfer and training for system maintenance. Administrative & Compliance Tasks Complete weekly timesheets, project status updates, and reporting in designated systems. Utilize SharePoint for documentation management and collaboration. Ensure project compliance with federal and state IT standards. Required Skills & Experience Cloud & IT Infrastructure Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including compute, storage, networking, and security. Proficiency in Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and serverless technologies. Knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git, Azure DevOps). Experience with cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices. Technical & Development Skills: Experience with public and private cloud solutions and hybrid cloud computing. Strong background in software engineering, systems architecture, and data management. Proficiency in SQL, .NET, Python, and Azure database services. Experience with data lakes, Databricks, and Azure-based data solutions. Project Management & Leadership: Minimum 5 years as a Software Development Lead. Minimum 3 years as an Architect or Designer on mission-critical systems. Ability to balance multiple projects with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and communication skills. Educational & Certification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced study preferred). More than 12 years of relevant experience. Microsoft Azure certification preferred. Preferred Experience Experience working in the public sector.
