Requirements for the FinOps Engineer: Experience of implementing and developing cloud platforms, including provisioning, engineering and administration activities, in particular Azure. Deep understanding of FinOps Principles and practices, supported by FinOps Practitioner/Engineer certification (or equivalent proven experience) Knowledge and experience with the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS) Proven track record of analysing cloud usage patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities, and implementing cost reduction measures without compromising performance and availability. Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to build understanding and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience using native cloud cost management tools (specifically Azure Cost Management and Billing) Hands on experience of implementing and managing Cloud Financial Management tools such as Apptio, Flexera. Familiarity with Microsoft and Azure APIs and working with Engineers to develop integrations with FinOps tooling. Strong data analytics and data visualization skills including experience writing SQL queries and developing dashboards in PowerBI Experience in building self-service tooling for cloud spend visibility and governance.
