Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Server Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Red Hat Linux and Ubuntu Server administration. This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of Linux servers to support mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Server Administration and Maintenance:
Install, configure, and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu Server environments.
Perform regular system updates, patch management, and kernel upgrades.
Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.
Security and Compliance:
Implement security best practices, including system hardening, firewall configurations, and access control.
Perform vulnerability assessments and apply remediations.
Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security policies.
Automation and Scripting:
Develop and maintain scripts for system automation using tools like Bash, Python, or Ansible.
Automate repetitive tasks and streamline operational workflows.
Server Monitoring and Optimization:
Set up and manage monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus to track system health and performance.
Analyze system logs and metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Backup and Recovery:
Configure and manage backup solutions to ensure data availability and disaster recovery.
Test and validate recovery procedures regularly.
User and Access Management:
Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
Implement and maintain authentication mechanisms such as LDAP, Kerberos, or Active Directory integration.
Storage and Filesystem Management:
Configure and manage storage solutions, including LVM, RAID, and NFS/SMB shares.
Troubleshoot disk performance and file system-related issues.
Virtualization and Cloud Integration:
Manage virtualized environments using KVM, VMware, or OpenStack.
Integrate and manage Linux servers in public or private cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with application, database, and network teams to meet infrastructure needs.
Provide Level 3 support for escalated issues.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps

Qualifications and Experience:

710+ years of experience in Linux server administration, specifically with Red Hat Linux and Ubuntu Server.
Expertise in system performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
Strong understanding of Linux networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations.
Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Proficiency in storage management, including LVM and RAID configurations.
Preferred Certifications:

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
Ubuntu Certified Professional (UCP) or equivalent.
Additional Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Experience working in an ITIL or Agile environment is a plus.
