Position: Enterprise Solution Architect (GCP, Azure) Location: Bolingbrook, IL (Remote ok) Duration: Long Term Job description: Must have skills: Enterprise Solution Architect, GCP, Azure and Experience architecting large enterprise systems. REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a related field, or applicable work experience. 8+ years of overall experience in information technology including architecture, design and development. 5+ years demonstrated leadership experience in complex business and technical environments as an architect is required. Experience architecting large enterprise systems as part of cross-cutting enterprise initiatives. Experience with major cloud platform, preferably GCP and Azure. Experience working with DR strategy and/or building resilient systems a plus. Familiarity with NIST a plus. Deep, hands-on technical acumen. Ability to influence the organization to "get things done". Self-starter requiring minimal supervision. Possess a strong work ethic; takes pride in producing a quality product. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Some travel required. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Solution Architecture: Contribute to the development of architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements agreed with both external and internal customers while balancing between functional, service quality and systems management needs. Ensure that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national and international) are adhered to. Disaster Recovery: Responsible for designing and implementing strategies that ensure system availability, fault tolerance, and rapid recovery in alignment with our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategy. Key duties include creating resilient architectures, conducting risk and impact analyses, collaborating with stakeholders, managing compliance, and overseeing BC/DR testing. This role also involves documenting application dependencies (data, integration), current state, and future state architecture IT Governance: Support the work of the governing authority/board, lead the review of management processes (and decisions) for compliance with the organization's strategy for corporate governance of information and develop architecture policies and standards. Business Architecture: Contributes to the creation and review of a systems capability strategy which meets the strategic requirements of the business. Creates models and plans to drive forward the strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance. Undertakes responsibility for investigative work to determine requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, data management, practices, procedures, organization and equipment. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Partner closely with platform/application architects and support buildout of solution architecture for large, cross-cutting, enterprise initiatives. Identify, develop, and document system dependencies, architecture decisions, and integration diagrams. Lead technical workstreams for the Enterprise Disaster Recovery program. Support enablement and management of the enterprise tech debt register.
