This role will involve building a comprehensive metadata inventory to enhance data governance, optimize analytics, and drive effective decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities Metadata Inventory Management : Use Python to interact with APIs from Power BI, ThoughtSpot, and Tableau to extract metadata, including data flows, report usage, and dashboard configurations, building a centralized inventory for governance and analytics. Data Modeling and Design : Analyze application data requirements and develop conceptual and logical models to support database design, consistent with corporate architectural standards. Logical Database Coordination : Ensure logical database designs promote data sharing, reduce redundancy, and align with organizational goals across various computing environments (e.g., host-based, client-server, distributed systems, web, and e-commerce). Standards and Governance : Establish and enforce standards for defining, naming, and creating data elements to ensure consistency and quality across the organization. Data Flow Analysis : Analyze information flows and interfaces between business processes to identify opportunities for optimization and improve logical database designs. Consulting and Collaboration : Provide guidance to stakeholders, IT teams, and management to address information flow and content issues, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Team Leadership : Instruct, assign, and review the work of other data analysts, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Project Contribution : Participate in various phases of data warehousing and data mining projects, contributing to team objectives and delivering high-quality results. Requirements 1+ years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, data mining, data entity analysis, logical database design, or equivalent education and work experience. Proficiency in Python for API interaction and metadata extraction from platforms like Power BI, ThoughtSpot, or Tableau. Familiarity with relational database concepts and logical database definition. Strong understanding of data governance, standards development, and metadata management. Experience working in securities or financial services is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design solutions that align with business objectives. Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience, is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience with multiple computing environments, including host-based, client-server, and distributed systems. Knowledge of scripting languages like Power or SQL for data management and automation. Familiarity with enterprise-level analytics tools and their integration into data workflows. Leadership experience, including mentoring and managing a team of data analysts.
