Role: Data Tester/ETL TESTER/ETL QA Location: Boston, MA (Day 1 Onsite) Contract/C2C Job Description: Job Functions/Overview: Database Test Design: Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases to cover various database functionalities like data insertion, updates, deletions, queries, data integrity constraints, and performance scenarios. SQL Proficiency: Write complex SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and validate data within the database to identify discrepancies or errors. Data Validation: Verify the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across different database tables and ensure data integrity. Data Migration Testing: Validate the accuracy and completeness of data during database migration processes. Defect Logging and Tracking: Document identified database issues as defects in a bug tracking system and collaborate with developers to resolve them. Automation: Develop and implement automated database testing scripts to streamline regression testing and improve efficiency. Collaboration: Work closely with database engineers, application developers, and other business team members to understand database requirements and coordinate testing efforts. Required Skills: Strong Database QA Experience: Ability to write test scripts, testing and compile results, identify bottlenecks and solution for developers to resolve related issues and gaps Strong SQL skills: Expertise in writing complex SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data within the database. Database knowledge: Understanding of different database technologies (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and their architecture. Development Experience: SQL, Python and scripting, any testing tools Software development lifecycle (SDLC): Understanding of the software development process to effectively integrate database testing activities. Experience using version controls such as GIT. Nice-To-Have Skills: Experience with Testing tools: Familiarity with tools such as JMeter, pgBench etc. Cloud computing expertise: Familiarity with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their database services. Data modernization techniques : Externalization, follow Medallion Architecture of raw/curated/gold (aka silver/bronze/gold), Lake strategy and usage, Serverless, and Producer-consumer conceptualization. Workflow Orchestration: Ability to understand end to end data pipelines, use of tools such as Airflow, CICD process and use of Git. Security Management knowledge including understanding of role-based access, groups and grouping privileges, use of external systems for vaults. Ability to define standards and access controls, user management and various access methods.
