Job Title: Lead Data Engineer (Azure Synapse) Location: Minneapolis, MN -ONSITE(NEED LOCAL CANDIDATE) Role Overview: US Bank is seeking a highly experienced Lead Data Engineer with a strong background in Azure Synapse and data engineering to spearhead the development of data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-based solutions for their Accelerated Credit Excellence project. This initiative focuses on leveraging AI/ML models to optimize underwriting decisions, improving efficiency, and enhancing competitiveness in the banking industry. The ideal candidate will possess advanced expertise in Python, Apache Spark, Azure Synapse, and other Azure Data Engineering services, with a proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex data solutions. Key Responsibilities: ETL & Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines using Python, Apache Spark, and Azure Synapse. Build and manage workflows with Azure Data Factory to support AI/ML data requirements. Utilize SQL Pools and Spark Pools for efficient data processing. Azure Cloud Development & Deployment: Develop and deploy CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or ARM templates. Optimize Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2) for data storage and access control. Data Engineering & API Integration: Develop RESTful APIs for secure data exchange and integrate with internal/external APIs. Utilize Kubernetes for deploying containerized applications. Design and implement Data Warehousing solutions to support advanced analytics. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals. Mentor junior developers and act as a technical lead for the team. Agile Project Management: Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives). Adapt to changing project priorities in a dynamic environment. Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical Expertise: Programming Languages: Proficient in Python and Apache Spark for data processing. Knowledge of Java for API integration and microservices. Azure Expertise: Advanced experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (SQL Pools, Spark Pools). Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2). Data Engineering & Warehousing: Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and optimization. Experience in building Data Warehousing solutions on Azure. Cloud & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, or GCP. CI/CD pipeline development and deployment using Azure DevOps. API & Kubernetes: Experience with RESTful APIs and containerization using Kubernetes. Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers. Strong collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience: 12+ years in software development, with 5+ years in a lead developer role. 4+ years working with Azure Synapse and data engineering services. Preferred Skills: Certifications: Azure certifications in data engineering or cloud architecture. AI/ML Deployment: Experience deploying AI/ML models on cloud platforms. Data Governance: Familiarity with data privacy regulations and governance best practices. Interview Process: Rounds: 1 round. Format: Video interview.
