Job Title: SQL Developer/ MS Access/MS SQL Application Developer Location: 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH, 03301-HYBRID (NEED LOCAL CANDIDATE) Job Summary: The State of New Hampshire is seeking a highly skilled MS Access/MS SQL Application Developer to support the enhancement and modernization of its critical agency applications. The role includes upgrading existing applications, contributing to technical strategies, and ensuring the reliability and stability of the agencys application portfolio. This is a hybrid contract role requiring local candidates who can work onsite three days per week. Key Responsibilities: Upgrade applications from MS Access project file format (ADP) to MS Access database file (ACCDB) and migrate databases from MS SQL Server 2008 to MS SQL Server 2016 or higher. Collaborate with the internal development team to maintain and enhance the agency's application portfolio. Define the future technical direction for application development and management. Provide documentation, code management, and maintain best practices for application support. Support end-users by troubleshooting, debugging, and ensuring reliable application performance. Assist in the migration of legacy database applications for both on-premise and cloud environments. Participate in user acceptance testing and support test processes. Provide a high level of customer service and adhere to ethical standards. Required Skills & Qualifications: MS Access & MS SQL Server Development: Expertise in developing, upgrading, and supporting MS Access and MS SQL Server-based applications. VBA Development: Strong skills in developing complex VBA scripts. Database Migration: Experience with application database migrations involving MS Access and MS SQL Server. Testing Expertise: Strong understanding of test processes, especially user acceptance testing. Communication & Collaboration: Excellent ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Technical Knowledge: Experience working with MS Access Applications, ACCDB, ADP, TSQL, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Preferred Skills & Tools: Knowledge of MS SQL Server administration. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cloud technologies such as GitHub, Salesforce, Jira, and SharePoint. Experience with Power BI and PowerApps. Knowledge of Salesforce PSS, Apex, and eliciting business/functional requirements is a plus. Physical Demands: Ability to perform sedentary work, including sitting and working on a computer for extended periods. Occasional movement within the office for meetings and collaboration.
