Job Title: Mid-Level Java Developer LOCATION: Primarily remote, Raleigh, North Carolina-HYBRID (NEED LOCAL CANDIDATE) Duration:12+ Months Rate: $45/hour C2C ________________________________________ Position Overview NCDIT Transportation is seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to join the DMV Traffic Records Systems (TRS) team. The role involves supporting the DMV Crash Data Management and DOH Traffic Safety systems, focusing on the collection, analysis, and distribution of motor vehicle accident information. The developer will work remotely from the Raleigh, NC area, with occasional on-site presence (about once a month). ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Serve as a technical specialist for complex Java projects, including 24x7 second-level on-call support. Collaborate with Business Owners to translate customer requests into technical requirements and user stories. Coordinate software release schedules with Business and Technical Teams. Develop business requirements, provide testing and training support, and maintain detailed documentation. Support the application maintenance team by analyzing and designing enterprise-level software solutions. ________________________________________ Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or a related technical discipline. Proven experience programming in Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML. Expertise in Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools. Demonstrated ability in application analysis, design, cost analysis, estimating staffing needs, testing, documentation, and implementation. Experience providing technical helpdesk support. ________________________________________ Preferred Skills and Qualifications Experience with Visual C++, .NET, CORBA, EJB, and Hibernate. Java Certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications. Strong communication skills in both oral and written forms. ________________________________________ Work Environment Primarily remote, but candidates must reside in or relocate to the Raleigh, NC area for the duration of the contract. On-site presence required rarely, approximately once a month.
